Courtney & Kylee
That’s right amigos. It’s that time of month you didn’t even realize you were waiting for. It’s Kylee and Courtney’s monthly round up. Since this is our first time doing it, here’s the explanation. Obviously, being just two people, two personalities, and living in separate states, we can’t always do everything together. So this is our chance to catch anything (be it usable, testable, watchable, or edible) that may have fallen through the cracks. It’s our personal top pick of the month that we haven’t tried together but would still highly recommend. So here we go:
Kylee’s February Picks:
Stuff You Should Know. So here’s the deal. Music for working out just doesn’t do it for me anymore. It’s not that I don’t still get a surge from good music, it’s just that I hate constantly having to update my playlist and always winding up listening to Fall Out Boy for about five weeks too many (I still love you Fall Out Boy!). So I started with Podcasts and in particular: Stuff You Should Know. I saw this was always at the top of the list of podcasts but the episodes always looked super boring. Would listening to 45 minutes of an episode about fracking or frostbite really want to make me shoot myself any less than running on the treadmill already did to me? Oh, but it does! SYSK is just plain fun! The two hosts, Josh and Chuck know when a topic’s boring, so instead of droning, they spice it up. It’s fascinating to learn about how common, everyday things I always take for granted of work. And even better, I feel like I’m doing two things at once at the gym. Working out my body and my brain.
For those looking to start I would recommend any of the Halloween episodes (because I can’t get enough scary stories in my life). But I also weirdly enjoyed the rabies episode as well as the episode that discusses that one time Nazis invaded Florida and NO ONE TAUGHT ME ABOUT IT IN OVER 10 YEARS OF SCHOOLING.
Courtney’s February Picks:
Eyelash Extensions! All right girls. True confession. I have eyelash extensions (NovaLash)…and I LOVE them. I’ve had them for about 6 months and there’s no going back now. Before extensions, my lashes were average length and light in color so nothing to write home about. Now. Now they are black and long and totally awesome. It took about 6 weeks for me to get used to them. The glue (that holds the extension onto your natural lash) irritated my eyes for the first 6 weeks. It felt like I had grit in the corners of my eyes at times. I was about to take them off when I noticed that “gritty eye” was going away. So I hung with it. And, I’m soooooooo glad I did.
